15. Festival Farm Hope Valley, RI
Aug 17-19 (Sat-Mon)
We arrived at our friends Jay and Judy's place around 2 pm. The temperatures were in the 70's during the day and 60's at night. Their two-acre farm features a kiddie ride area, various crops, a country store, and a petting zoo with an emu, pony, alpaca, two donkeys, bunnies, goats, and sheep.

Carousel music plays throughout the property during the day.
Emme meeting some critters

On Sunday, we attended First Baptist Church of Hope Valley with Judy, while Jay waited for the vet to tend to a sick goat. Judy is a gifted musician and an amazing singer!

We had a great time reconnecting with Judy and getting to know Jay. They are a hard-working, down to earth couple who are just good people. They run the farm mostly by themselves with a couple of helpers. It's hard work and they've been at it for 15 years. When Judy is not tending the farm/store, she also performs at different venues. Jay is a man of few words, but once he gets comfortable with you, he'll talk your ear off!
We said our good-byes on Tuesday as Judy headed to sing to folks at the Alzheimers wing of a nursing home. We had a lovely time!
